History
Our passion for metal dates back to 1927. In this year Pieter Popken founded the basis for the current Popken Metaal. Initially, Popken started producing metal components, used to repair broken clogs. Soon the company grew to become a professional supplier of metal band materials and new markets were tapped by expanding the product range with metal and aluminum bands.
In 1970 the company relocated to the Blijdensteinstraat 1-3 in Assen and since 2012 Popken Metaal can be found in their brand new factory on the Spanjelaan 15 in Assen. Currently Popken Metaal has grown to become one of the most successful roll-formed profile factories in Europe. From our head office in Assen in the Dutch province Drenthe we provide metal profiles to companies in The Netherlands and abroad.
